The Enterprise University of Nigeria (EUN) is Dr. Babangida Ruma’s most ambitious contribution to Nigeria’s education landscape — a pioneering institution built on the conviction that the country’s universities must stop producing job-seekers and start producing job-creators. Dr. Ruma serves as the institution’s Founder and Executive Vice Chancellor (EVC), a role reflected in his Twitter bio where he is identified as “Founder & EVC @EUNigeria.”

EUN evolved from the Cherish Enterprise Institute Limited (CEIL), which Dr. Ruma incorporated in 2012 to drive knowledge economy businesses in Nigeria through teaching, learning, and research. CEIL was accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in February 2014, and in December of the same year, the senate of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) approved it as the Community Study Centre for the Northwest geopolitical zone — laying the foundation for what EUN has become today.

EUN is designed specifically to serve the economic realities of Northern Nigeria, which continues to record the highest unemployment figures, the widest education gaps, and the greatest underutilisation of human and natural resources of any geopolitical zone in Nigeria.
